Margeret MacDonalds profetia

Något som är viktigt att beröra och som har varit grundlag till mycket diskussion och missförstelse, är just Margeret MacDonalds profetia som anses vara det som har format Darbys lära och teologi. Tanken blev framförd redan på 70-talet av Dave MacPherson i boken ”The Unbelievable Pre-trib Origin från 1973 (5)

Dave MacPherson hade åsikter som kom att prägla stora delar av den argumentation som ligger till grundlag för att Pre-trib läran är falsk.

Margeret, då 15 år gammal, skulle ha deltagit i ett karismatiskt bönemöte i Skottland – år 1830. Där skulle hon ha profeterat och gett en profetia där hon deklarerade att uppryckelsen skulle ske före vedermödan.

Här är ett utdrag från profetian där jag har framhävt text som är intressant:

”I saw the people of God in an awfully dangerous situation, surrounded by nets and entanglements, about to be tried, and many about to be deceived and fall. Now will THE WICKED be revealed, with all power and signs and lying wonders, so that if it were possible the very elect will be deceived. - This is the fiery trial which is to try us. - It will be for the purging and purifying of the real members of the body of Jesus; but Oh it will be a fiery trial. Every soul will be shaken to the very centre. The enemy will try to shake in everything we have believed - But the trial of real faith will be found to honour and praise and glory. Nothing but what is of God will stand. The stony-ground hearers will be made manifest - the love of many will wax cold I frequently said that night, and often since, now shall the awful sight of a false Christ be seen on this earth. and nothing but the living Christ in us can detect this awful attempt of the enemy to deceive - or it is with all deceivableness of unrighteousness he will work - he will have a counterpart for every part of God's truth and an imitation for every work of the Spirit. The Spirit must and will be poured out on the church, that she may be purified and filled with God - and just in proportion as the Spirit of God works, so will he when our Lord anoints men with power, so will he.

This is particularly the nature of the trial, through which those are to pass who will be counted worthy to stand before the Son of man. There will be outward trial too, but `tis principally temptation. It is brought on by the outpouring of the Spirit, and will just increase in proportion as the Spirit is poured out. The trial of the Church is from Antichrist. It is by being filled with the Spirit that we shall be kept. Slut citat.

Invändningar och motargument

Om ni kan förstå innebörden av denna profetia, förstår ni säkert att det finns ganska klara motargument när det gäller denna profetia från Margeret, och på det sätt den skulle ha präglat John Darbys teologi:

För det första finns det en tidsskillnad som finns mellan profetian och John Darbys tidiga böcker. Profetian kom i år 1830, men redan flera år tidigare hade Darby skrivit böcker om ett tidigt uppryckande före vedermödan. Det är med andra ord omöjligt att Darby skulle ha färgats av denna profetia.

Vedermödans renande eld

För det andra är det själva innehållet i profetian som gör det omöjligt. Om ni som jag kan läsa och förstå det som skrivs, så finns det ingenting i själva profetian som tyder på att Margeret varken trodde eller profeterade en pre-trib tolkning. Margeret ”profeterar” bland annat så här:

“This is the fiery trial which is to try us. - It will be for the purging and purifying of the real members of the body of Jesus; but Oh it will be a fiery trial.

This is particlarly the nature of the trial, through which those are to pass who will be counted worthy to stand before the Son of man.

När Margeret skriver att vedermödan eller prövningens tid är till för att rena församlingen, och att den vedermöda församlingen kommer att få gå igenom skulle komma från Antikrist, så är det inget annat än klara Post-trib tankar som inte har något med Jesu återkomst före vedermödan att göra.

För det tredje är profetian egentligen inte relevant. Det som är viktigt i frågan är om läran är biblisk eller inte, och det är med andra ord Guds ord som ska avgöra saken.
